Teaching in person at Paperific Melbourne 3-5th May

Firstly I would love to say thank you to the many ladies that have supported my new venture and bought my kits!  Many returning customers and wonderful feedback making this girl feel very special indeed!

For those of you that are thinking of attending Paperific in Melbourne from 3-5th May I have so exciting news to share.  I will be teaching in person over the 3 days and looking forward to meeting many many people.  For those of you that have been doing my kits, this is a great opportunity to do this one with me in person!

The projects I will be teaching will start with a layout that can really be personalised using the same kit.  You can go for a more masculine theme or more feminine.  You can also stick to a more flat style of scrapping (for those of you that like to get a big number of layouts into your albums) or a more dimensional feel (my signature style).  So you have 4 different ways you can go with this one to really personalise it along with your own personally created background!  You may even come up with your own spin on it and create option number 5 - your own version!  I will be teaching numerous techniques and sharing my way of scrapping and how I design my pages as well.

Here are some sneaks of the different layouts (you will choose one) and card that we will be creating.

Cost: $35  Time: 12:30pm - 2:30pm Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Students will need to bring:
·                     6'' x 4'' (10cm x 15cm) landscape photo - colour, Black and white, sepia - you choose!  You can see the colour scheme in the photos
·                     Double sided tape or liquid adheasive - I recommend Helmar 450 Quick dry and Helmar Acid free for this class. (Basic kit)
·                     Double sided foam or packing cardboard (if taking the dimensional option)
·                     Cutter (craft knive and ruler can a substitute) (Basic kit)
·                     Craft mat (Basic kit)
·                     Scissors (Basic kit)
·                     Pencil and eraser (Basic kit)
·                     Distress tool if you have them for distress inks
·                     light yellow ink pad (I have used Tim Holtz 'Old Paper' distress ink)
·                     Pink/peach ink pad ( I have used Tim Holtz ‘Worn lipstick’ distress ink)
·                     Light blue ink pad (I have used Tim Holtz 'Tumbled glass' distress ink)
·                     Colorbox (or any chalk ink - can be used in place of above too) light blue (for masculine theme) OR pink (for feminine theme) to colour chipboard - not Distress ink for this, pigment ink ok.
·                     Grey ink pad any type (I used Stampin' Up! Basic Grey) - you can get away with black, will obviously just be a little darker

We will also be using some 'share' tools in the class that you may like to bring your favourites to use or to save time.
·                     Border punch
·                     script stamp

I am taking bookings now and you can e-mail me at orders.scrappychatdesigns@gmail.com or call me on 0413 608 170

There are limited spots, so booking and payment will be required to secure your spot.

I will also have a gallery displaying my Master's Entries as well as other work for those interested to have a look at, and please don't hesitate to come up and say hi!  I will be wearing a white apron with 'Scrappy Chat Designs' on it, so you won't miss me :)

I look forward to meeting those attending the show.

Cheers,
Beck Beattie

Friends for Life Kit by Renee Aslette

Well how exciting is this, not only do we have a brand new kit released today, but I also get the pleasure of announcing the fabulous designer for the main project of this kit!  I have been lucky enough to have Renee Aslette design this layout, for you all to learn a little more about how she gets the lovely texture and interest in her work.

Renee currently designs for Unity Stamp Co, and has also previously designed for Scrap the Boys challenge site, Guest designing over at Lime Tart and also Helmar which is where I got the pleasure of falling in love with her work.  She has been published in various Scrapbooking Magazines and has had numerous achievements in on-line challenges.

In this kit she will show you how to create texture with an everyday item as well as use sprays in various ways.  Again there will be additional projects included with the kit that you can work through at your own leisure as well.  The additional projects are Two additional layouts that can be completed with the contents of the kit (designed by Beck Beattie), which just shows you how much is included in these kits!  Again you will still have some product left over that you can use on future projects to come as well.

If you have not yet tried our kits, now is the time with this beautiful kit designed by Renee.  If you would like to see more of Renee's work, please head on over to her blog : Anything is Possible

The price of the 'Friends for LIFE' kit is $39 + postage.  Please e-mail me at: orders.scrappychatdesigns.blogspot.com.au with your address for postage to be calculated and your invoice to be sent.

We have released this kit a little early so our next premium kit will be released at the start of April.  This will also make room for some exciting mini kits to be released next.

Thursday, 7 February 2013

Well I am very excited about the response I have received regarding my kits.  They have already nearly sold out and I hope everyone has as much enjoyment working their way through it as I have had creating it.

I thought I would share with you today some sneak peeks of the projects that you are able to create with the left over product in the kit!

These are 3 additional projects you will receive full pictures and tips for when you purchase the kit.  There is so much in this kit that you could easily make more as well.

I have also decided to sell the video for the main project which is included in the kit.  I know some people may already have the product on hand or live overseas and well postage would be more if they decided to purchase the whole kit.  Or you may simply like to purchase it to learn a new technique.

The video purchase includes, the videoed project, written instructions as well as pictures of the project both full and detail pictures.

Purchase price for the Video is $10 and postage is $2 to anywhere in Australia.  Overseas postage would need to be calculated upon contact.  Video will come in the form of a Disk.

Launch

Ever attended a class and everyone moves at such a quick pace that you don’t get a chance to experiment with the techniques to achieve the ultimate finished project.

Or you realise half way through that you forgot your favourite pen or ink and no one in the class has it for you to borrow.

Or alternatively if you are like me and have two very young kids, it is just plain hard to get out sometimes to the classes you want to attend on the days they are available, not to mention distance as well….

Well that is where my ‘Self pace’ kits come in!  You are provided with everything you need to create the finished project, including video (premier kits) and written step by step instructions.  Whilst the video is in a sped up mode, you can always pause to complete each step at your own pace!  Kits without video will include step by step pictures of techniques where needed as well.

At Scrappy Chat Designs we specialise in fun kits taking you out of your comfort zone creating with new or different techniques to individualise your papercrafting.

Premier kits come complete with video and step by step written instructions included to complete the main project.  Included will also be pictures of additional projects you can complete with left over product from the kit.  Each kit will teach you a technique as well as provide you with tools such as screens, stamps, sprays (each kit will vary) that you can keep to individualise your future projects.

Kits will generally be released monthly, however stay tuned for our next few kits to be uploaded as the finishing touches are added.  Kits are limited so when they are sold out there is generally no replacement.

If there is ever a technique or product you would like to see included on an upcoming kit, please contact us at orders.scrappychatdesigns@gmail.com and we will endeavour to meet your request.

So it is VERY exciting for me to announce the first kit which is on sale NOW!

However to celebrate our launch... purchases of this kit made until friday 15th February are 10% off
