Exciting news as we reveal our newest Arty Chic!

Hi Everyone, it's Beck BT here and I am SOOOO excited to announce our newest Designer Sandi Spink!!!

A little about Sandi:

I am a mum of 2 adult daughters and Nana of 2 beautiful grandchildren who I love to scrap of course and a Child Care Team Leader during the working week. Craft has always been a huge part of my life, everything from knitting and crocheting , bear design and making, folk painting and cross stitching to name only a few.  I started scrapbooking about 8 yrs ago but was talked into entering challenges around 2 yrs ago. I love scrapbooking layouts, canvases and off the page creations and now with the children out on their own I have a craft room that has been overtaken over by scrapbooking supplies. I love entering challenges and feel honored to be able to share my creative flair as a Design Team member in a number of Challenge blogs, I see it as a way to not only challenge yourself but develop your own techniques and provide inspiration to think outside of the box. Whenever possible I take on the opportunity to attend workshops of a range of scrapbooking artists to develop my skills and learn about new products. I am also a very keen photographer which gives me lots of photos to scrap, any excuse to scrap I reckon so when I go camping, my scrapbooking supplies and cameras are packed first. My scrapbooking and camping buddy and I call it ‘Scramping’. I’m looking forward to sharing my ideas and techniques with you all and hope I can inspire you to take on the challenge and maybe even to take that step outside your comfort zone.

as an 'Arty Chic'

Hi, Scrappy Chat Friends, I'm Sandi and I'm looking forward to sharing with you my ideas and techniques with the amazing products in the  'Flying Stars" kit.

Today I will be sharing with you how I produced my background with my new favourite 'Colour Crush' powders by Tinby Designs.  Techniques such as this one are shared with the members only, but as a treat I have an extra one to share here with all the followers as well.  If you want to not only be inspired but also learn, see below for all the details on how to become a member. Here's my layout-  'Cute Little Man'

Step 2: Using the plastic pipette add a small amount of water to the powder, depending on the colour intensity you want depends on the ratio between the powder and the water.

Step 3:  Using some scrunched up paper towel, blot some of the ink onto two sections onto your page and then using a clean wet-one, blot over the sections to soften the areas and edges.

I hope you enjoyed learning about  this technique  and it inspired you to grab this amazing kit and try out some of tips, techniques and products.

Step 1: Place a small amount of Colour Crush into a palette, I used the end of my spatula to ensure I could control the amount and didn't spill any.

Step 4:  Continue to add ink until you are happy with the shape; remember to leave lots of white space. If you are unsure it’s a great idea to practice on a spare piece of white card until you feel more confident.

Step 5: Let your ink dry and add some more with the paper towel if you feel you need some more depth to your areas. I added a little more after the photo was taken to make the shapes a little less square.

See you soon with another creation from this kit.
