My Country Boy

Hi to all the Scrappy Chat ladies. I hope your week has been going well.

I have another layout to share from this month's "Wish Upon A Star' kit.

This is a simple layout with some interesting techniques.

Here are a few of the techniques I used:

  • I started my background by applying ink with a sponge through a stencil. Any large, bold stencil would work. You could even apply the ink through the negatives from a sheet of chipboard alphas or numbers or simply use alphas or number stickers.
  • I tore off a small piece of the corrugated cardstock and used it to swipe some Whipped Spackle over the stenciling.
  • When it was dry, I used my finger to apply some of the rubs from the kit over the corrugations.
  • I also used the rubs to coat the Dusty Attic Tile Alphas. So simple yet so effective! I used the copper colour which is showing up a bit orange here. It adds a real glimmer to the letters. I also used the gold on the word 'boy'.

This kit also features some less consumable product that you can find a bit more about and have a play with! Aside from the divine papers by Kaisercraft in the kit, there is corrugate paper, Cardstock, fun embellishments as well as DecoArt 'One Step Crackle', Metallic rubon containing 7 divine colours, and simply beautiful script ribbon. Once again a kit jam packed with product for you to learn and get creative with.

Kim will take you through using the product along with some staple items in your stash to make the 3 stunning layouts you can see in the graphic. So get your willingness to learn as you create three different layouts with the help of THREE videos. You are sure to nail all the techniques for each layout that don't have a view by date - you get to watch them forever if you wish!

Kits are still $39 + Postage with LOADS of value for you money, as it is like doing 3 classes - all in the comfort of your own home!

Each premier kit comes with:
Video AND instructions to complete the three layouts
Feature a many techniques with product to be used well after the life of the kit. (With all of our kits you will have plenty of product and knowledge to add to future projects)

All the product needed to complete the project with a list of additional basic items used such as ink/ paints/gesso/texture paste and colour sprays you will need out of your supplies.

  1. Fantastic layout Heather, and I love how you've used the corrugated cardboard to create texture that matches the rusted roof sheets in the photo - very clever!

  2. What a great background in the photo Heather. Love the way you used the rusty tones of the corrugated iron to bring colour onto your background. Fabulous masculine layout :)
