"The Best"

Hello Scrappy Chat friends. Fiona here with you today sharing a little technique I discovered while playing with some of the leftovers from the "Summer Fun" kit.

In the kit is some green squiggly plastic ribbon. I'm really not sure what to call it but I've found a different way to use it. Seeing that it is green, it didn't really match my layout design so I decided I would colour it using some gesso and the color crush powders.

Paint to green squiggly ribbon stuff with some gesso

Mix some gesso and a tiny bit of water with the color crush powder

Place the gesso covered side of the green squiggly ribbon stuff into the gesso and Color Crush powder

Then transfer the mixture on to your background by pressing it down with your fingers.

Once you've done all three colours you end up with not just an awesome background pattern but also three different colored squiggly not green any more things!

Which you can then incorporate into your layout.

How easy is that?

I hope this little tip has been helpful. You could apply this technique to any shiny surface, because gesso is actually a primer, it is great as a base to assist mediums sticking to a surface . It has a really good amount of tooth in it.

Well that's all for now. I'll see you all again next time with a creation from a brand new kit!
