Laugh

Hello!

Sandra here again with my second layout using the fantastic Country Happiness kit.

I love how this kit is perfect for those family photos and how it lends itself to different colour schemes.

For my layout, Laugh, I have gone with  a bright and happy scheme to match the happiness in the photo, by picking out the yellows in the kit.
I have used the DecoArt Chalk Finish Paint to alter my chipboard title, then lightly inking the edges to make it stand out a bit.

The background was created by using a dot stencil and lightly  sponging with the DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint.

I used a generic word stamp with black paint and randomly stamped the layout.

and a few quick stamps using a Kaisercraft splats stamp (which was in a previous SCD  kit) with mustard Gelato.

I then assembled the page and added a bit of happy sparkle with the sequins that came in the kit.

Another quick and easy layout for you.
But the next layout is something different again, showing you the fantastic versatility of the
Country Happiness Kit

Hope to see you then!
:-)

Love U2

Hi!!
Sandra here again sharing with you my third layout using the fun SCD Country Happiness Kit.
For this background I lightly added some brown and olive green ink with a dry dauber and lightly rubbed the kraft with it.

I blended some tea green and olive gelatos (not contained in the kit) on my work sheet and sprayed with some water - you could used some watercolour paints in place

Grabbing some crumpled up cling film I picked up the gelato and lighted dabbed the layout with it.

I also randomly stamped the background using a Kaisercraft bubblewrap stamp.

Isn't this a yummy looking concoction??

For this layout I had a bit of fun and experimented. :)

It is Clear Impasto mixed with  the Bronze Beck Beattie Tinby Design Metallic Melts that comes with the kit.
I then simply used it on a couple of old stencils (not in the kit)...   you could use any you have at home

Carefully lifted it off and then gently used a heat gun to start melting those Tinby Designs Metallic Melts in the impasto.

It is hard to photograph the effects.. but the butterfly and leaves have a lovely sheen from the Metallic Melts.
For this layout I went to town fussy cutting every single flower that was left on the patterned Adorn-It papers, altered the chipboard with the ArtDeco Chalky Finish Paint (with a touch of brown ink on the edges)  and I then assembled my layout.

I hope you try the technique using the Impasto, Melts and Stencils.
If you do, please share your results with us on the SCD Facebook page!

Thanks for stopping by.. and see you next time!!

Going Our Way?

Hello!
Sandra here again with my third layout using the Charming kit.
and it is a great kit don't you agree?
I decided to have a bit of fun with this layout and experimented with the back ground.

I'm not sure if you can see it in the above photo but the technique I tried does give a fantastic affect full of texture

To achieve the look all I did was gesso a 12x12 piece of white cardstock (I just lightly wipe gesso over it with a baby wipe)
I then randomly added some texture paste with a stencil

(sorry about the photo quality... I took this with my phone)

Then once dry I added WATERED DOWN
Turquoise  DecoArt Shimmer Spray and mint gelato

(I also concentrated the gelato onto the texture paste by applying it directly onto it, this helps make it stand out)
I added a spritz of water everywhere (yes this is a WET technique!!)
I then placed a piece of cling film on top of it and with my fingers massaged it around, making creases and blending it all together.
Then I put it aside to dry.. This is VERY important.
Do not be tempted to lift the cling film off until it is completely dry.

I left mine to dry overnight.

Once it is dry, carefully peel off the cling film and enjoy the results.

I added some gold flecks of ink.

I trimmed my layout to 8.5 x 11 inches and with the left over piece I altered the chipboard circle and created a button with it.. and also punched out some other circles to add some extra interest.

(I gessoed the chipboard circle and used it for my journalling. )
and altered the butterfly with a Uni gold pen.

I had a lot of fun creating the background.. why not give it a go yourself?

Missing you Today

Hi!
Sandra here again with my second layout from the "Hello" kit

--This layout is out for publication--

With all my layouts this month I went to PageDrafts for a kick start
for this layout I used sketch number 46

To create the background I diluted the IZINK ink in water and put it in a spray bottle and lightly misted the background.

Then using the awesome stamps in the kit  and the mango gelato I stamped the background.  (spray the stamp with water before adding the gelato to create a delicious water colour affect)

using a paint brush and adding a stronger solution of IZINK and water I dropped a few drops next to the stamped spots and also spread it around with the paint brush.

Dry with a heat gun.

I then painted and sprayed the background with both diluted IZINK and mango Gelato.
Dried with a heat gun and then stamped with randomly with a script stamp and doodled a border.
Then I created the layout.

the flowers I made with one of the pieces of white cardstock.. I coloured them with IZINK and mango Gelato.
The paper twine was wrapped around a skewer to give a cute little twirl.

I added some celadon ink to the title and then used the TINBY METALLIC MELTS to create a beautiful texture and colour, added some punched butterflies and some journaling and  it is complete.

I enjoyed playing with the IZINK and the Gelatos and discovering different ways to use them.

Well that is it from me for now until next time with another layout to share. :-)
