Grungy Girl layout

Hello Scrappy Chat lovelies! Fiona here with you to share my second project with the "Rough and Ready" kit. I was so inspired by our Guest Designer Amanda Hall and her tutorial on using big photos on your layouts that I decided to give it a go.

I had this beautiful photo of my daughter that I knew would work perfectly and even though I was using Amanda's idea, I wanted to make sure I made it in my style, so I decided to add my mixed media techniques as I normally would.

Stamping, spraying, paint flicking ...... all the awesome mixed media things I like to add to my projects. But as we all know, MM is a very messy thing to work with and can often get in the way of the "clean" parts of our design, so I decided to show you all how to "MASK" your work and still be able to add HEAPS of MM without ruining the overall clean effect.

Spraying in particular, can be very invasive. So masking stencils before spraying is a must!

Sometimes stamping with a background stamp is too much. You may just want a small section of the stamp. I will share with you how I mask my stamps to only stamp exactly what I want!

For a full technique sheet on how I created this layout, check out how to become a Scrappy Chat member below.
