"Gift Bag"

Hello Scrappy Chat friends! Fiona here with you today sharing an off the page project I created using the latest "Summer Fun" kit. In the kit is a medium sized brown paper bag and I couldn't wait to alter it!

I had such a fun time adding and mixing the Tinby Design new Color Crush Powders to create this art background and then I dressed it up with the fabulous Coco Vanilla papers!

Full instructions for how I created this little beauty are in my technical sheet for members. 

This kit features some really fun products, aside from the divine papers by 'Coco Vanilla Studio', there is cardstock, Tinby Desings new Color Crush powders, Kaisercraft stencil, twine as well as a number of fun items to embellish with.  

Our main designer for this months kit is Heather and she has been busy creating three fun layouts to share you lots of new techniques to have a go with the help of 3 videos of course!  As you can see another kit jam packed for you to learn and get creative with and Heather along with the very talented Arty Chic's will show you how!   

As said Heather will take you through using the product along with some staple items in your stash to make the 3 stunning layouts you can see in the graphic.  So get your willingness to learn as you create three different layouts with the help of THREE videos.  You are sure to nail all the techniques for each layout that don't have a view by date - you get to watch them forever if you wish!   

Kits are $45 + Postage with LOADS of value for you money, as it is like doing 3 classes - all in the comfort of your own home often with techniques too hard to show in a traditional classroom setting!

• Feature a many techniques with product to be used well after the life of the kit.  (With all of our kits you will have plenty of product and knowledge to add to future projects)
• Photos of each project including close up detail pictures
• All the product needed to complete the project with a list of additional basic items used such as ink/ paints/gesso/texture paste and colour sprays you will need out of your supplies.

The kits focus on how to use various products teamed up with some pretty paper to compliment them, so there is always less or non-consumable products in our kits, to not only help you complete some beautiful projects, learn many techniques and ways of using the different product as well as taking them well beyond the kit projects.

I Love You .....

Happy New Year!

What a fantastic 2014 we have had. So many gorgeous kits and just as many amazing layouts from the very talented team here at Scrappy Chat Designs. Every month I feel very honoured to be amongst such talented and inspirational ladies. I am so looking forward to this year and to all the fun to be had with new and exciting kits!!

To finish off the year I've created a layout of me and hubby. I've used up my left overs from the 2014 kits.

So to begin with I gathered up some scraps. My favourite Crate Paper "So Lovely", some of the "Sea Shore" collection from Prima Marketing and the lovely green "Splotch" from Ruby Rocket's Country Cookin' paper collection. Combining all three off cuts made up my background piece once I'd stuck them all together.

 I used some October Afternoon papers from the Public Library selection "Due Date" to create my paper stack along with some twine and a small white doily. 

Some random alpha stickers added to the background along with some plumbers tape, stamping and splats.

My layout has a story behind it about how we met in the library at school. I was 16 and he was 17. I happened to be reading the same book he had just finished ........ it went on from there and 23 years later it's better than ever :)

I've documented our story on the back. He doesn't like photo's (can you tell? LOL) but I am on a mission to take as many of us as I can. Other than our wedding photos I think there might be Five in total! My New Year's resolution ...... to take a photo every month during 2015 :)

Creating a "Front - Ground"

Hello Scrappy chat peeps. Fiona here with you again this month to share with you my layout I created from the November kit "Rustic Goodness".

This kit features some 'new product' less consumable product that you can find a bit more about and have a play with! Aside from the divine papers by Ruby Rock-it in the kit, there is Cardstock, loads of fun embellishments as well as one of the brand you DecoArt Media line products - crackle paste, there is a texture stamp, The Crafters Workshop stencil, and a sheet of alphas as well! 

I've created what I call a "Front - Ground". That would be a layer of background techniques that have actually been placed on top of the layout sort of like an after thought but done deliberately.

It seems such a shame sometimes, to put all that effort into creating a background with awesome textural products, to then promptly cover it up with patterned paper and a photo.

So this time I didn't. Instead I created a frontground. To find out more about the technique I've used, you can subscribe to receive your kit.

September 'Freestyle' kit Release

Today we are releasing another divine kit designed by the talented Fiona Paltridge.  Freestyle is something Fiona is really talented at and she is going to show you how!

Spellbinders dies have been used in the creation of the layouts, and whilst not included in the kit, are very easily adapted patterns for those that do not own a die cutting machine.  Dies can be purchased with your kit, so advise if you are interested in these when ordering.  Dies used in this kit are the the new Celebra'tions pierced circles set as well as the Celebration set.
